Organized by the Venice Biennale, the 82nd Venice International Film Festival takes place, as is tradition, on the Venice Lido in its various dedicated venues. The Festival, officially recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers' Associations), aims to promote and disseminate international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment, and industry, in the spirit of freedom and dialogue. It is divided into several sections: Venezia 82, Out of Competition, Orizzonti, Venezia Spotlight, Biennale College Cinema, Venezia Classici, and Venice Immersive. The various sections, one of which is entirely dedicated to promoting the restoration of classic films to contribute to a better understanding of the history of cinema, particularly for young audiences, include the International Film Critics' Week and the Giornate degli Autori. The 82nd Venice International Film Festival also boasts five juries: Venezia 82, Orizzonti, the "Luigi De Laurentiis" Venice Award for a Debut Film, Venice Immersive, and Venezia Classici. The Awards Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
