Orpheus and Eurydice is the sculptural group created by Antonio Canova between 1775 and 1776, exhibited for the first time in the lagoon city on the occasion of the Festa della Sensa in 1776. The masterpiece, today in the Museo Correr Collection, is one of the early works by the sculptor, who made it at just 19 years of age on commission from his mentor and first patron Giovanni Falier and should have been exhibited in the garden of the country villa of the Venetian family in Asolo.
